We've decided to discontinue the 5h discography. It was something neither of us took great joy in doing and we'd prefer to focus on other areas (like new music, tours and the concert chronology!).
Our Dutch friend, Ferry Groen has put together an excellent discography at:
www.pjdiscography.com
which also includes promos and other items we didn't feature. It seemed like a waste of effort and disk space to duplicate something that was already a focus for someone else. We support his effort and encourage you to visit there for discography information and to support his effort by contacting him if you have items not listed there. We still think that bootlegs suck and actively support tape or CDR trading. Read this article to find out why and how you can get connected to the trading network.
Note on valuations:
While we believe in the principle of supply and demand, in our opinion most people selling Pearl Jam memorabilia these days are asking outrageous prices for items that were never meant to be sold in the first place (see the above graphic, which appears on the first four PJ fan club singles). For that reason, we never included market value of the discography items. However, Five Horizons supports your right to be an informed consumer -- you can only be taken advantage of if you let yourself be. Get educated and informed about market values before buying, and if you're buying by mail or over the net, check the person/dealer out first.
One magazine that can help you find some of the more elusive PJ collectibles is Goldmine, now available on the net as well as at many magazine stands and independent record stores. Please do not write us asking 'How much is X worth", because we can't tell you -- all we can tell you is what we paid for something, and even that doesn't mean anything. Some of us have paid outrageous amounts to have an item we particularly wanted. Happy hunting!
